As a Controls Test Engineer in the Product Evaluation group at the Emerson Innovation Center in Marshalltown, IA, you'll have the opportunity to use mechanical, electrical, technical, and leadership skills in a collaborative team environment to support new product development. As a Controls Test Engineer You Will This position focuses on supporting the testing and evaluation of new and enhanced process control technologies for process control systems.
As a Controls Test Engineer, you will:
- Work with a team of domain experts to research and develop a new generation of hardware and software to establish final control element performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to understand their valve and process control needs.
- Provide technical feedback and direction to the design and evaluation of new product concepts, including conceptualization, design review, and testing of complex products
- Conduct controls analysis for electro-pneumatic systems.
- Design, set up, and complete hardware, software, and electronics testing to validate performance and application.
- Use software such as LabVIEW, FlexLogger, DIAdem, and MATLAB to gather and evaluate experimental data
- Work with Simulations, Marketing, Design, Manufacturing, Sales, and Procurement groups as part of a multi-functional team

For This Role You Will Need: - BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Preference will be given to those with prior controls and/or NPD experience.
- Understanding and/or functional expertise in most of the following areas:
- Advanced control algorithms, e.g., for loop stability, robustness, and performance analysis
- Basics of controls and modeling for mechanical and electronic elements
- LabVIEW and/or MATLAB/Simulink
- Analog and digital signal processing
- Pneumatic Systems
- Proven mechanical proficiency
- A successful candidate will have a passion for science and technology coupled with an ability to work in a team environment. A desire for innovation is a must
